Dec 03, 2011 The difference is that Studio One Free is just that, completely free, while Artist is the intro version, Producer is lite and Pro is the full version. Those that want unfettered VST support in Artist are asking Presonus to take a loss to satisfy them.this isn't good business, and would make little sense. May 20, 2015 Studio One 3 is available in 3 flavors: Prime, Artist, and Professional. Find out which version is right for you! Learn more and try the FREE 30-day demo at.

| I have been using Artist for some time now and love it. I have contemplating moving up to the Producer version but am having a tough time justifying it. Anyone out there made the upgrade and can speak to the benefits of moving up to the Producer level? Thanks in advance to any ideas you have here. | With Producer & Pro, you also get Track Folders: you as many tracks as you see fit) into a collapsible folder. This can save a lot of screen space, and really help workflow. You also get a feature called 'Explode to Pitches', which separates each 'row' of your midi tracks into it's own track. This is VERY useful if you use midi drum tracks: You instantly get a separate track for you kick, snare, each tom..etc which gives you full mixing capability for each percussion sound. (There is a workaround if you don't have this feature, but it's pretty tedious) Multiband compression is an awesome tool as well. Oh yeah, there are MANY high quality free vst's out there. It is worth 'the price of admission' to be able to use these. Here is one example: http://www.powerdrumkit.com Another impressive VST set: https://vladgsound.wordpress.com/plugins/ And, one more: http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugins/ .. ectsBundle So, which a Studio One upgrade, you can use all of these VST's at no additional cost! | Awake1994 wroteSry. Only the Professional version supports the Projectpage My fault, reading is fundamental. I read Producer as Professional. I think everyone should be on Professional though Actually they would be better off with Producer and Professional only IMO S1 Pro 4.6.1 OSX High Sierra 10.13.6 2010 MacPro Dual 2.4 Quad, 14 GB Ram |

|
I have both of these features in my copy of Studio One Artist.
Ooops..sorry! I upgraded from Free to Producer, then to Pro. I had forgotten which features came with what. I forgot that Artist had Track Folders & Explode to Pitches (I might not have even known about these when I had Artist!) But I will say that I love the Multiband Compressor in S1 Pro. I haven't used Melodyn yet, but from everything I've read so far, it is a very powerful feature. And the Project Page for mastering is a great feature..quick video description here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUUQQUarquk Atari 5200, 64K RAM S1PRO Radio Shack Cassette Recorder w/internal Mic, |
